Civil War Union Calvary Soldier Cased Ambrotype Portrait
Item Details
An antique Civil War Union soldier cased ambrotype portrait. The ambrotype is a sixth plate size and features a dark-haired breaded man in his Union uniform, he appears to be private in the Calvary Artillery unit. He his holding his saber front and center and a pistol can be seen holstered to his hip. There is added color to his cheeks and gold accents to his uniform. He is framed in an ornate gold tone foil with scrolls and stars. The gutta-percha case features a high relief ornate design made up of foliage, scrolls, and flowers.
