An original mid-century oil on canvas painting by listed German-American painter Franz Ambrasath (1889-1974). This illuminated seascape depicts three tall sailboats floating across a reflective body of water. Mysterious pale pink clouds rise over the scene, sending ripples of color across the lake below. The painting is signed in pale blue to the lower left. It is presented in a wide beige wooden frame with a faux sand finish and white linen trim. A wire is attached to the verso of the piece for hanging. The artist’s name is again written on the verso, though likely not by Ambrasath himself.
