Pair of Janicotte Hand-Colored Stone Lithographs of Paris

Item Details

A pair of mid-century hand-colored stone lithographs depicting Paris by Janicotte (French, 20th century). Little is known about this artist other than that many masterful depictions of Paris from this period bear their signature. The two prints are titled Paris- Notre Dame and Paris- Le Pong Alexandre III et la Tour Eiffel. The prints depict these famous scenes in loose, gestural linework and soft pools of pastel colors. The prints are both signed in-plate to the lower right. They are both matted in white and presented behind glass in matching black thin wooden frames. Wires are attached to the verso of the pieces for hanging.

Condition

-light foxing on prints. A few scratches mark the edges of the frames.
