Hand-Carved Honduran Maya Style Folding Accents Table
Item Details
A hand-carved mahogany Maya-style folding accent table from Honduras. The mahogany table has an unusual design in that the top is removable and the three legs fold down. When assembled, the table top slips into three grooves of the table supports, and the legs are held in place with a hook and clasp. The top is round with a carved tribal pattern to the outside edge. The legs have large, figural Maya heads with detailed facial features at the top; each with a headdress which acts as the notch for the tabletop. The ‘necks’ of the figures are curved and form the top of the support under the table top. The hinged legs continue down, styled as carved human legs with feathered boots. Unmarked.
Condition
- there are minor scratches to the table top and minor dings to the legs.
