Framed Princess Diana's "The Royal Visit" Press Badges
Item Details
A framed set of three badges bearing the face of Princess Diana; the badges were for her visit to Chicago in 1996. The three badges included are labeled ‘Event Staff’, ‘Press’ and ‘All Access’. They are stored in plastic sleeves that seem to be original and have a clip hole for a lanyard. The three badges are framed with a digital copy of a story about the visit and these particular badges from the June, 17 1996 edition of People magazine. The story is mounted on a metallic foil backing. The items are mounted on deep blue matboard and are presented behind glass in a thin carved wooden frame with gold tone finish. A wire is attached to the verso of the piece for hanging. According to a note attached to the verso, only one other set of these exist, and were auctioned at Sotheby’s of New York. This information cannot be confirmed.
Condition
-spots from water and/or mold damage are visible across the interior of the glass. Printed story is slightly warped. Passes seem to be untouched by water damage, though it is difficult to tell within frame.
