An unsigned original watercolor of tropical landscape by well-known Cincinnati physician and artist Dr. A. Graeme Mitchell (1889-1941). The painting depicts mountains in the distance with a shoreline and one large palm tree to the foreground. Presented without frame or matting.

Mitchell was a prominent physician in Cincinnati and even served as the Children’s Hospital director at one point in his career. Mitchell was also well-known and respected as a painter and etcher, and attempted to preserve the history of Cincinnati in his work. This watercolor is a part of a large collection that was stock for Closson’s Gallery.
