A pencil signed limited edition serigraph titled Blue Cut-Out Fold by Polish/American Op Art artist Julian Stanczak (b. 1928), produced in 1970. The print features a folded band of striped blue on a black background. This print is number 105 in an edition of 165. It is signed in pencil to the lower right and numbered in pencil to the lower left. Presented behind glass in a thin silver tone frame with black matting; ready to hang.
Stanczak was born in Poland but settled in Cleveland, Ohio after time in the Polish army, Uganda, and England. The Op Art movement was named after his first exhibition ‘Optical Paintings’. His work includes repeated geometrical forms in bright and muted colors. He taught at both the Art Academy of Cincinnati and Cleveland Institute of Art.
