Antique Persian Flat Pile Carpet
Item Details
A hand knotted Persian carpet. This wool area rug features a large diamond medallion at focal point with red, brown, green peony and plume motifs on a blue ground. The main border depicts a mechanically drawn double vine, as sometimes found in Hamadan rugs. The guard stripes represent a vine and pendent flower frequently seen in Kurdish and Feraghan rugs. A fine example of Persian craftsmanship.
