Hand Crafted Robert Treate Hogg Cherry Windsor Style Arm Chairs

Item Details

A pair of hand crafted cherry Windsor style arm chairs. Both are inscribed by maker: Robert Treate Hogg and dated 1970. The chairs have high arched crest rail with raised ends, comb backs, and carved saddle seats. The arms have carved rolled scalloped detail on ends. The legs are turned with tapered feet. A single turned support rail crosses the center.

Robert Treate Hogg started creating custom pieces of wood furniture in 1936. Since then, Hogg has created hundreds of pieces of furniture for private residences as well as commissioned pieces for Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Congress Hall in New Jersey, King Ranch in Texas, and New Castle County Courthouse and Dupont Capital in Delaware. Each piece of furniture is custom made.
