Vintage Ebonized Exotic Wood Sword Cane

Item Details

A vintage ebonized exotic wood sword cane. The cane has a dark stain, mimicking ebony wood, and incised African figural carvings throughout shaft. The full tang blade of the sword is made of iron with brass attachment and rim; however, a piece of the attachment is broken and the latch does not work. A metal hook has been attached to the sheath of the sword, however this is a contemporary addition.

Condition

- wear to the tip, head, and blade. A chip of wood is missing from the underside of the handle. The wood is split into the sheath of the blade. The head has experienced some repair that has left it tilted and the blade insecure. Blade has not been sharpened recently and is tarnished with a cleaning odor. A small hook has been added to the sheath of the cane for display, however it is not original to the piece.
