Vintage Butternut Bread Advertising Sign

Item Details

A vintage Butternut bread cardboard advertising sign. The sign shows a large loaf of bread over a grocer, who is handing a loaf of the wrapped bread to a small child. Images of other grocery items appear behind the grocer. The product name as ‘Butter-Nut Bread’ appears at the bottom of the sign and there is a price window to the left, with two price wheels on the reverse numbering 0 through 9, held in place with a grommet. This allowed the merchant to set the price for the product. A grommet is affixed to the top of the sign for hanging.

Condition

- for age. The larger price wheel on the reverse is slightly bowed and the edges of the sign and the wheels are darkened with age and use. Some tape residue from a price sticker remains on the reverse.
