JLMenau Cobalt Blue Porcelain Tri-Lobbed Dish with Handle

A vintage tri-lobbed cobalt blue bowl was made by Jlmenau Graf von Henneberg Porzellan of East Germany in the 1930s-40s. This bowl has a wonderfully designed handle attached to the center and between a pair of lobs and is from their Echt Kobalt line. It features a heavy gold gilt floral design highlighted with a moriage-style raised gold, to the base of each lobe, gilt rim decor, and gilt to the handle and areas between the lobes. The bottom of the dish has the ‘J L MENAU Graf von Henneberg Porzellan’ hallmark, ‘Made in East Germany,’ ‘Echt Kobalt,’ ‘7426/4 N: 2468/K’ to the reverse. This maker’s mark indicates that this piece was made between 1934 and 1949. It is a companion piece to item 16CIN033-005.
