A collection of four antique sad irons made from cast iron. Sad irons were used in the 18th and 19th century before they were superseded by the superior technology of modern electric irons and are a unique part of the history of domestic household cleaning items. Three are impressed with the manufacturer name and a number, indicating the heft of the iron. One has a black wooden handle.
