An original watercolor painting on paper by contemporary Virginia artist and teacher Barbara Thelin Preston. This still life painting of an interior space depicts a room filled with rich colors, textures, and gestural forms. A tea kettle sits near an ornately carved table, and bright fruits and flowers dot the room. Gestural graphite lines delineate forms between loosely running patches of watercolor. The painting is signed in brown watercolor to the lower right. It is double-matted in white nad presented in a thin silver-toned metallic frame. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging, along with a sticker from the ‘Thelin Preston Art Guild’ in Burke, Virginia.
Condition
-to fair. Painting itself is in excellent condition. Matting has significant wear and accretion from being stored without glass. Would be a stunning piece if reframed/matted.
