A Soumak style flat woven area rug. This hand woven flatweave rug features Persian motifs on a burnt umber field with a sage green border, and fringe. This distinctive construction technique requires wrapping wefts over four warps before drawing them back under the last two warps. Soumak styles are originally produced by the tribes Northwest of Iran. Made in China, this rug is size 3’-1′ × 5′-1’.
