Two Pieces of Fractional Currency

Item Details

A pair of fractional currency pieces. One is a note for ten cents and features an image of Washington. The other is a note for fifteen cents that features the Bust of Columbia. These notes were introduced due to a metal shortage for coins after the outbreak of the Civil War. These notes would have been manufactured between August 1862 and February 1876. The notes are encased in a plastic sleeve.

- the ten cent note has a hole in the middle.
