A set of seven framed, signed, limited edition horse racing prints after the original paintings by Richard Stone Reeves. The scenes feature European and American Thoroughbreds and each print focuses on the finish of a classic race between champions. All of the prints are signed in the plate and in pencil in the lower right hand corner by the artist. They are all numbered 183/750 and have been framed in a variety of frames. They were published by the Newmarket Gallery of New York City and printed by the Triton Press, Inc. Among the titles are ‘Troy Leaves the Field Standing/The 200th Derby, Epsom, June 6th, 1979,’ ‘Pawneeze defeats Bruni and Orange Box/The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes, Ascot, July 24, 1976,’ ‘Shirley Heights defeats Exdirectory and Hawaiian Sound/The Irish Derby, The Curragh, July 1st, 1978,’ ‘The Minstrel defeats Hot Grove/The Derby, Epsom, June 1st, 1977,’ ‘Crystal Water defeats Cascapedia and Caucasus?The Hollywood Gold Cup, Los Angeles, June 18th, 1977,’ ‘Forego defeats Foolish Pleasure/The Marlborough Cup, Belmont Park, New York, October 2nd, 1976,’ and ‘Affirmed defeating Alydar/The Belmont Stakes, New York, June 10th, 1978.’

Condition

One print has mildew on the backing paper.
