Norman Strike Linoleum Cut "The Artist at Work"

Item Details

A vintage artist’s proof linoleum cut by American artist from Iowa, Norman Strike, titled, The Artist at Work, dated 1977. The image depicts a view looking over the shoulder of a man wearing glasses and a mustache while he is busy working on a lino-cut. The print is marked in pencil to the bottom left A/P (artist’s proof), the title is written across the bottom center margin, and the artist signature and date are signed in pencil to the bottom right. The print is mounted behind white mat, under glass, in a simple narrow wood frame with a black finish.

Condition

- to fair. Image is clear, but it is blemished with brown moisture stains that run onto the mat. The bottom interior edge of mat has foxing.
