A bookplate by the infamous Earl Marshawn Washington (born 1968) best known for attempting to pass off famous works by other artists as his own by carving his own plates and pencil signing them with his name. This particular bookplate is a work originally by J.J. Waugh that was published in a special winter edition of "The Studio" magazine circa 1898, and depicts a seated woman in a classic art nouvau styling.
