Antique Oil Painting with Inserted Clock
Item Details
An original oil on board painting from around 1910-1920. The clock’s parts were produced by Lenzkirch, a German clock-making factory in business from 1859-1933. The front of the clock is engraved with the words ‘Carl Shulz, Uhrmachermeister (Master Watchmaker), Berlin 1871.’ The clock seems to be in working order, but could not be tested because it is missing its pendulum. The clock is inserted in the upper left corner of the painting, which depict a figure walking along a small trail running parallel to a reflective stream. A metal hook is attached to the top for hanging.
