A Maurice Elie Sarthou mixed media painting on board. The piece features watered free formed shapes in a pallet of grey, yellow, black and orange. It is signed M.E. Sarthou and is framed under glass is a canvas mat in an antique brass frame. Sarthou was born in Bayonne, France in 1911 and studied at the School of Fine Arts in Montpelier and later Paris. He his work is in over 3o institutions and museums both in France and abroad. He died in 1999.
