Trio of Rudolstedt Greek Mythology Plates

A trio of Rudolstedt plates. This rare collection of plates from Germany feature beautifully painted scenes of women from Greek mythology. Each scalloped edged plate is hand-painted with applied gold details. Included in this collection are ‘Antigone & Ismene’, ‘Hebe and Iris’, and ‘Penelope dressing herself for the feast’. Each bears maker’s mark and title to underside. The Penelope plate appears to be signed by artist, ‘Carle’ to lower edge of image. Although the actual date of these plates is unknown, most Rudolstedt pieces found today were made in the late nineteenth or early twentieth century.

Condition

No chips, cracks, or crazing. Minor wear of the gold finish to underside edge of plates.
