An assortment of books with illustrations by Cincinnati artist Charley Harper (1922-2007). This lot includes a children’s book by Harper, ABC’s (AMMO Books, 2008); The Giant Golden Book of Biology: An Introduction to the Science of Life by Gerald Ames and Rose Wyler (New York: Golden Press, 1961); a newer retrospective, Harper Ever After: The Early Work of Charley and Edie Harper with an essay by Sara Caswell-Pearce and an introduction and commentary by Brett Harper (Pomegranate Press, 2015); and a 1954 special edition of Moonbeams the magazine of Proctor and Gamble with ‘design and special drawings by Charles Harper.’
Condition
- The Giant Golden Book of Biology has an aftermarket non-stick plastic wrap on it which is coming apart at the edges.
- All three books show light head, tail, and corner wear.
