Dickens’ Village Merchants includes ten building and one set of figurines. The buildings are titled ‘Mr. & Mrs. Pickle Cottage’ (1994), ‘Hembleton Pewterer’ (1992), ‘Bumstead Nye Cloaks & Canes’ (1990), ‘Mr. Wickfield Solicitor’ (1989), ‘The Mermaid Fish Shoppe’, (1988), ‘Giggelswick Mutton & Ham’ (1994), ‘The Maltings’ (1996), ‘Geo Weeton Watchmaker’ (1988), ‘White Horse Bakery’ (1988), ‘Old Curiosity Shop’ (1987). The figurine is a two-piece set titled ‘Chelsea Market Fish Monger & Cart’.

The Dickens’ Christmas Village by Department 56 has become an enduring collectable item for annual and permanent home displays. Each of the items are made of ceramic with intricate designs in the building details as well as the people and accessories and all of the items are hand painted and all of the buildings as marked to the bottom.

Condition

There are no electric cords for “The Fish Shopp”, The “Watch Maker”, and “Hembleton Pewter”. The lights are untested. The boxes may show some wear and/or spotting.
