Antique Standing Bass with Electric Pickups
Item Details
An antique standing bass with electric pickups and amp. The bass has a carved scroll head stock with brass plate sides. The tuning pegs are solid brass and feature a spiral gear mechanism. The neck, back and sides of the instrument are constructed out of tiger maple, while the front face is made from spruce. Two molded F-holes and delicate purfling decorate the front of the instrument. The bridge is a modern addition and features electric pickups and an amplifier jack. The bass was previously owned by Gary Karr, world renown bass soloist, and has been used in performance by Dick Smothers. The Bass comes with letter of provenience and photographic documentation.
The bass comes with a solid wood bow, Poly Tone amplifier, aluminum bass stand, soft cover case, and amplifier chords.
Condition
Cracks forming on neck and body. Damage and splintering to edges, Cracking to rubber foot. Bow needs restrung. All parts tested and working.
