A vintage Japanese Hagoita paddle. The Hagofita paddle is a traditional Japanese folk art piece that depicts two male Kabuki warriors. The paddle is traditional used during New Year games of Hanetsuki as an exercise to ward off evil. The paddle is decorated in fine brocades, has a delicately painted back, and stands on a square wooden base.
Condition
The hair has started to come away from the cloth. Tear in fabric on hand
