Circa 1920 Cello

Item Details

A circa 1920 cello. The cello has a beautifully scrolled head with four rosewood tuning pegs. The neck has a maple backing with rosewood fret board. The body has a spruce face with maple back and sides. A delicate purfling protects the back and from faces of the piece. The instrument is currently fitted with nickle strings; however, traditional catgut secure the tailpiece to the end pin.

Condition

Tuning pegs slip out of tune easily. Crack forming in neck. General damage to body and purfling. Scratches beneath bridge.
