A collection of vintage and antique metal ware. Included in the collection is a pewter elephant figurine, an aluminium Stede porringer, a Clad’s Disher tin ice cream scoop circa 1870s, a Wilton ‘Armetale’ plate circa 1960s and an aluminum basket. The Stede porringer is stamped on the bottom with the Stede logo. Porringers were originally used by people to eat porridge around the 1920s. Clad’s Dishers were invented in 1876 by GW Clewell who patented the gadget and then had it manufactured by tinsmith Valentine Clad. The gadget was widely used until the end of the 19th century. The disher has ‘Clads Disher’ stamped on the inside. The Wilton plate is made of a nontoxic alloy of aluminum called ‘Armitale’. This was patented in the 1960s, and the plate has ‘RWP’ and ‘140’ stamped on the bottom. The aluminum basket has geometric designs cut into the sides with two handles and four round feet.
Condition
Items are in good condition for their age, but all items have some varying degrees of tarnishing.
