A 1954 wooden Japanese Daruma sculpture. This traditional icon of a wish fulfilling monk is sculpted in two pieces from Japanese Keyaki wood. The top piece depicts a kindly old monk with a pleasant rounded shape. The top most part sits atop a simple rectangular pediment. The providence of the piece is secured to the bottom of the piece.
