A hand knotted Persian Sarouk rug. This hand knotted carpet displays a minor foliate medallion, curvilinear floral and foliate designs over a saffron field. Three minor borders surround the field and display a traditional Herati pattern. The carpet is finished with a thin saffron guard. The rug features a pure wool pile knotted to cotton warp threads and pure vegetable dyes.

Condition

Slight loosening of threads near edge.
