An original limited edition lithograph on paper by well-listed contemporary French-Canadian artist Emile Bellet (1941-), titled Maternite Rouge. This vibrant image is drawn in Bellet’s signature style, incorporating quick, loose brushstrokes in bright primary colors. The image depicts a woman wrapped in a red shawl holding a small baby. Red flowers and square yellow houses rise behind the figures, and abstracted patches of bright colors and patterns create a patchwork across the print’s background. The print is signed and numbered 180/300 in pencil in the lower margin. The print is double-matted in white, and presented behind TruGuard UV protection glass in a simple gilt frame.
