Pair of Rare Signed Hiroshi Yoshida Original Woodblock Prints

A pair of rare signed Hiroshi Yoshida original Japanese woodblock prints. The first print is titled Sarasawa Pond with the artist’s seal Hiroshi and artist’s jizuri (self-printed) seal, dated for 1933. The second piece is titled Glittering Sea with the artist’s seal Hiroshi and artist’s jizuri (self-printed) seal, dated for 1926. Both are signed in pencil to lower right and title to lower left. Pieces are presented in matching gold tone bamboo styled frames and are double matted behind glass. The artist Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) was a master of the Shin Hanga movement in Japan from the 17th through 19th centuries. The artists name Hiroshi Yoshida translates to ‘Hiroshi’ for generous, and ‘Yoshida’ for ‘lucky rice field’.
