The image depicts an overcast late winter or early spring day, pedestrians leisurely strolling along cobblestone streets. The paint is quickly and energetically applied, some areas in thick impasto, carving out the details of the figures, the architecture, and trees. Artist signature is signed in paint to the lower right. This painting is mounted behind linen mat, in a beveled wood frame with a natural stained finish.
Condition
- heavy craquelure and warped dried paint throughout painting surface. Canvas is dented and misshapen in several areas. Painting is not securely mounted within frame. Finish of frame is worn along edges and on corners.
