1857 Hand Colored Engraving of Boston

Item Details

A large 1857 engraving of a Boston harbor drawn by John William Hill (January 13, 1812 London, England – September 24, 1879 West Nyack N.Y.) and hand engraved in steel by Charles Mottram (1807 – 1876, England) and printed by the highly respected and detailed B.F. Smith Co., consisting of brothers Francis and Benjamin. This engraving is archival matted in gray linen with a simple gold wood bevel and framed in beveled wood with an ornate fleur de lis molding.

Condition

- slight yellowing to engraving consistent with age
