A primitive folk art 19th century oil painting depicting a portrait of three girls in blue dresses and two boys in brown clothing, each with lace collar. These children have pious attitudes and expressive eyes. One girl holds what is presumably a prayer book. The rich brown background provides a gravity befitting the subject matter. Housed in a simple wooden frame. Signed to lower left by artist, possibly A. or H. Leutuer or Leutner.

Condition

Varnish craquelure is heavy in spots, and there are a few scratches on wood frame.
