A collection of original historical Lexington, KY photographs. The photographer is unknown. These photographs were produced from negatives originally owned by E.B. Foley (1880-1952) a United States Postal Service worker and grocery store owner in Lexington, KY. The photographs document a span of years from the middle of the 19th century through the 1940s. Many of the photographs document historical architecture and street life of Lexington, KY and are original. Also included are reproductions of original images, including tintypes. With this book is included a nearly complete key documenting the place, subject and time of each image. This book includes images 241 through 290 of the collection. The location of the negatives is unknown, it is possible that these are the single printing of these images.

243. An early photograph of the Fayette County Courthouse and Public Square.
262. The Security Trust Safety Vault Company was located on the corner of Short and Mill. At this time, W.R. Milward Mortuary was located next door to the vault. Across the street, were W. J. Loughridge’s office. This was the largest hemp dealer in Fayette County.
268. Formerly the Orphan’s Home on West Third Street, this has since been replaced with the Archway leading to Hampton Court.
287. The Woosley House was called the Little Inn. It was a rooming house located on East High, where Shug Glenn Buick is now located.
274. Lexington Brewing Company, Inc. – Home of ‘Dixie Beer’ and ‘Bone Dry’. Located on East Main Street in front of Deweese Street.
285. Anna Morris Boswell, wife of Orville Shelby of Tennessee and mother of General Hoe Shelby of Missouri, later married Benjamin Gratz. Their daughter, Ann Gratz married Thomas H. Clay. Mr. and Mrs. Clay wer the parents of Miss Henrietta Clay.
