A photo offset lithograph after the original 18th century painting titled Interior of St. Peter’s, Rome by Giovanni Paolo Panini (Italian, 1691-1765). The original is amongst a four part series of St. Peter’s, Rome, now amongst the permanent collection of the Boston Athenæum. The print features the interior view of the famous St. Peter’s Basilica, accentuating the barrel vaults, coiffuring and sculptural detail. This has been cropped from the original, which displays visitors in the foreground. The print is set in a double cream and lavender mat and presented in a silver faux finish wood and glass plated frame.
