Jean-Claude Picot "Montmartre Sous La Pluie" Seriolithograph
Item Details
A Seriolithograph by Jean-Claude Picot, Titled ‘Montmartre Sous La Pluie’. Having worked exclusively as an artist since 1956, French-born Jean-Claude Picot (1933- ) is heavily inspired by Fauvism, as is evidenced by many of his pieces. Simplified figures dot a colorful and semi-realistic avenue in ‘Montmartre Sous La Pluie’, seemingly unfazed by the rain. The street appears to draw the viewer in, pulling one through the row of cafes and storefronts to explore what lies beyond. Kept in an elegantly distressed frame, and double-matted in white and slate blue, this piece is also signed to lower right and numbered 234/700 to lower left, both in pencil. A Certificate of Authenticity from Park West Gallery is affixed to the backing paper, reg# 102730.
