John Dugan Original Oil Painting of Cincinnati Skyline

An original oil painting on board by well-known Cincinnati artist John Dugan (1918 – 1996). The image depicts the Cincinnati skyline as seen from the Kentucky side of the Ohio River. Among the notable landmarks included in this painting are the Carew Tower, PNC Bank, and the John A. Roebling Bridge. The painting is signed by the artist, ‘J. Dugan,’ to the bottom left, and mounted inside a beveled wood frame with a gold tone interior trim. A Closson’s Cincinnati gallery sticker is attached to the verso.
Dugan studied under several notable artists including John Weis, Louis Bouche, Joseph Albers and Ben Shahn. His work has been included in several collections including; The University Club, Cincinnati Club and Cincinnati Museum Association, as well as a number of private collections across the United States.

- finish of frame is worn throughout, including light scratches and abrasions.
