1835 J.J. Audubon Colored Engraving " American Snipe"

An 1835 J.J. Audubon colored engraving titled "American Snipe" depicting one male and two female American Snipes on the water’s edge surrounded by wild grass blades, the engraving is marked to bottom right "Engraved, Printed & Coloured by R. Havell, London, 1835." This piece is matted in sage and framed in a nineteenth-century hardwood with intricate scroll and leaf gold tone molding and original slightly dimpled glass.

Condition

- visible parts of the print have slight yellowing consistent with age, glass slightly dimpled consistent with age, slight loss to molding on frame
