Circa 1920 Jaeger & Co. Bavarian Porcelain Set

Item Details

A set of vintage porcelain dishes manufactured by the Bavarian manufacturer Jaeger & Co. circa 1920. The ‘J&C Bavaria’ with crossed flowers mark indicates that the pieces were produced between 1898-1923 while the shape of the pieces and the style of decoration suggests a date around 1920. This set was a custom order and many pieces are marked ‘M. West’, the name of the original owner, on the bottoms. The heavily gilded edges and geometric pink designs suggest the Art Deco aesthetic. The group includes a gravy boat, two covered dishes, one tea cup, a butter dish, ten small bowls, a sugar bowl with lid, ten bread plates, eleven salad plates, and twelve large plates.

Condition

Some of the pieces have damage.
