Late 18th Century Etching by JB Tillard after Saint-Aubin
A late 18th century etching by French printmaker Jean-Baptiste Tillard (1740–1813) after French painter Augustine de Saint-Aubin (1736–1807). The print features a street corner with tools and stools laying around and a poster nailed to the wall. ‘Mes Gens ou Les Commissionnaires Ultramontains au Service de qui vent les prayer’. The painter and engraver names are printed to the lower margin of the print. Presented behind glass in a thin black and gilt frame; ready to hang.
