1799 Thomas Malton Hand-Colored Aquatint "The Trinity House"

An original 1799 hand-colored aquatint etching by well-known English painter and printer Thomas Malton ‘The Younger’ (1748-1804). This print is titled The Trinity House, and depicts the recently completed headquarters of the London-based shipping and freight company. The building is located in a quaint square surrounded by red-roofed buildings. Figures in upscale attire wander about the square. The print is titled in the lower margin, and the publishing information is printed below. The print is presented behind glass in a thin black wooden frame. An auction tag from ‘C.G. Sloan & Co.’ auction house in Washington D.C. is attached to the verso, along with a wire for hanging. More information about the artist can be found under Related Links.

Condition

-light yellowing on edges of paper. Small scratches across edges of frame’s surface.
