A limited edition signed serigraph titled Say No to the No-Sayer, Vote Johnson by political Lithuanian born artist Ben Shahn (1898 – 1969). This piece, published circa 1964, features a depiction of Barry Goldwater with text below reading, ‘He says no to civilization and survival. He voted against nuclear test ban, civil right act, tax reduction, medical care for the aged, minimum wage legislation. Say NO to the NO-SAYER. Vote Johnson.’ It is signed in a very light marker above the word ‘survival.’ A gallery label indicated the piece is number 32 in an edition of 500. It is matted in an acid free solid core gray mat and framed in a thin deep matte black metal frame.
