Vintage Howard Bradford Serigraph "Fish Decoration"

A vintage serigraph print by well listed artist Howard Bradford (California/ Ontario, 1919 – 2008), titled, Fish Decoration, dated 1952. The image echoes folk art, depicting an abstract, red monochromatic representation of multiple fish of varying sizes, lined up down the center of the composition. Artist signature signed in plate in pencil to the lower right; beneath it in lower right margin artist’s full signature and date in pencil. To the lower left margin, the print is marked edition 65 and the title follows, both written in pencil. Mounted behind red and light brown double mat, under glass, in a beveled wood frame with a natural stained finish. Additional information about the artist and print is written in ink to the verso. This print was framed by Abbot Picture Framers in Washington, D.C., as indicated on the sticker affixed to the verso. This particular piece was featured in a solo exhibition of Bradford’s serigraphs at the IFA Gallery in Washington, D.C., in 1959. His work has been featured in the Los Angeles Musuem of Art Bulletin publication of 1954, as well as editions of Art News in 1951 and 1955.
