George Kelly 1920s Professional Bat

A George ‘High Pockets’ Kelly Hillerich & Bradsby 1920s professional bat comprises this lot. The bat was found in Cincinnati, Ohio. The black tape on the bat appears to be vintage. George played for the Cincinnati Reds from 1927-1930; he also played for the New York Giants (1915-1916 and 1919-1926), Pittsburgh Pirates (1917), Chicago Cubs (1930) and the Brooklyn Dodgers (1932). The bat is a ‘125’; ‘Trade Mark RTG US Pat. Off.’ is engraved in the wood under the label. He was elected into baseball’s Hall of Fame in 1973.
