Louis Icart Aquatint Drypoint Etching "Le Panier De Pommes"

Item Details

An original 1924 aquatint drypoint etching by very well-listed French-American artist Louis Icart (1888-1950), titled Le Panier De Pommes. The print is created in Icart’s signature style; it depicts a woman walking through a garden carrying a basket of apples. She bits into one of the apples as her dress falls away, revealing her breast. Areas of the print are printed a la poupée, giving it bright bold pops of color. The print is signed by the artist in the lower right. Copyright information that dates the piece to 1924 is printed along the upper left margin of the image. The print is matted in off-white and presented behind antique glass in a simple gilt frame. A wire is attached to the verso for hanging. More information about the artist can be found at the link below.
