Circa 1940s Okako "Waltax Junior" Camera

Item Details

An Okako ‘Waltax Junior’ Japanese camera dating from the 1940 to 1952. Camera features folding struts to reveal the lens. Brand’s marking ‘Okako Tokyo’ is found on the back side of camera’s plastic base. Lens is marked ‘Bio Kolex Anastigmat 1:4.5 f=7.5cm No. 27932’. Number ‘27996’ is stamped to the top of camera’s metal frame along with ‘Wallax Junior’. Camera is stored in original brown leather case, stamped ‘OKAKO Waltax’ and ‘Made in Occupied Japan’. Item is untested.

Condition

Item is untested. Camera’s flash is not included. Camera is in great cosmetic shape considering age and use. Leather case has torn where lid hinges open, no strap present to carry.
