An original Japanese woodblock print by well-listed printer Kawano Kaoru (1916-1965), titled Girl and Ogi Fan. Kaoru is most famous for his depictions of children and rose to prominence in Tokyo beginning in the 1940s. The artist frequently utilizes the wood’s natural grain in his printmaking to add texture and intrigue. This beautiful print depicts a young girl holding a fan, printed in solid areas of purple, black, gray and goldenrod with some areas of shimmering gilt finish.
