Herend Hungary Hand Painted Hussar Dragon Slayer
Item Details
A Herend Hungary hand painted porcelain Hussar dragon slayer. The figurine features a well dressed soldier tweaking his mustache with his left hand, gazing upward, as he leans on his sword in his right, which has pierced through the defeated dragon at his feat. This is based on the 15th century Hungarian soldier, Janos Vitez, and is signed by the artist ‘Maucsca’ and dated 1938 to base. Marked underneath and numbered ‘5599 3’.
